Reading is a significant part of my life. It is a passion of mine which has awakened my imagination and inspired my creativity.  Some of my very early memories are of having Enid Blyton books read to me and then later reading them myself. I just loved immersing myself into the fantasy world of the Faraway Tree and the folk of The Enchanted Wood. My vivid imagination enabled me to join them on their adventures to the different lands at the top of the tree. I even created my own version of " hot cold goodies", involving ice cream and lots of hot chocolate sauce!
I passed on my love of reading to my two children, Daniel and Hannah and in our imaginations together we explored the Enchanted Forest, visited the lands at the top of the Faraway Tree and joined the folk of the Enchanted Wood  in their adventures. 

I hope that these Wizard Wise books spark your child's imagination, just like Enid Blyton did mine. Most of all I hope that you enjoy reading our stories together. One little girl was so enchanted by The Spring Clean that she started to write her own stories and a little boy firmly believes that the Wizard lives at the bottom of his Nanna's garden. As an author comments like this melt my heart.
When my daughter was 6 years old and my son was 9, I wrote the first version of Wizard Wise and the Spring Clean.

Despite my best efforts at the time I was unable to get it published. Last year, Hannah had her 26th birthday and I took a sabbatical from the nursing profession. It was time to dust off the cobwebs of my manuscript, revisit the story and find an illustrator. 
Fortunately Hannah knew just the person, her sister in law to be, Jenna Booth, who is a very talented, up and coming illustrator. Jenna graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in illustration. For her illustrations Jenna uses mainly collage with some drawing and photographic elements. We so enjoyed producing our first novel that we have recently created our second book: "Wizard Wise Saves Christmas."
Jenna's illustrations really bring my written word to life and with much help from Shaun at the Candy Jar Book Group, I am delighted to be able to introduce you and your children to the magic and mayhem of Wizard Wise. I hope your children enjoy reading these books as much as Jenna and myself have enjoyed creating them for you.
